NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop Foundation for DRY Skin

Everyone’s raving about the new NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop foundation, as they should! Most reviewers also agree that this foundation is NOT for beauties with DRY skin. Seeing as how I’m always up for a challenge, I decided to try out this foundation to see if it can be manipulated to work on dry skin. I’m proud to tell you that it can! But before I do, here are some of the reasons why it’s worth all the trouble.

1. It's affordable

2. THERE ARE 45 SHADES!

3. It boasts that it's a 24hr wear foundation. (I don't plan on testing that claim, but I will vouch for the fact that after 6 hours of wear, my makeup still looked as fresh as when I started.)

4. The formula is matte; and when they say matte, they mean MATTE! On their website, they state that the foundation is good for oily skin, combination. skin, normal skin, and sensitive skin. They did not include dry skin as one of the skin types that should wear this foundation...

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer

Which brings me here today. I don't like feeling excluded from anything, especially a product that claims to be amazing. Ya girl has dry skin, but I really wanted to test out this product, so I did. I was able to make this super matte foundation work for my dry skin with no discomfort.

If you have dry skin like me and want to use this foundation, you'll want to start by moisturizing TF out of your skin. I'm talking serum, moisturizer, AND skin mists to prep. You can either opt out of using a primer, OR use a moisturizing primer similar to the Too Faced Hangover RX primer or the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r primer.

At this point of skin prep, you should have a tacky base. You can take moisture a step further by mixing your favorite moisturizer with the foundation.

Apply the foundation or foundation mixture to your skin and follow with your normal foundation routine.

Try to avoid baking or over setting your foundation with powders, this is NOT the foundation for that. You also want to avoid cream contouring as it probably won’t blend out.

That’s it! Go ahead and give this a try and let me know how it worked for you.
